The 16-inch barrel paired with a carbine-length gas system delivers the classic M&P-15 configuration, and the 1:9 RH twist supports the rifle’s 5.56 NATO chambering. Operation is semi-automatic with a direct-impingement system and a manual safety.
Sighting is handled by a fixed A2 front sight base with bayonet lug and a detachable flip-up rear aperture sight on the receiver rail. The T-marked flat-top Picatinny upper rail is stamped "-S&W-" and provides clear reference marks along the top.
The threaded muzzle is fitted with an A2 birdcage flash suppressor. Standard AR features are present, including a forward assist, ejection port dust cover, and case deflector. The rifle accepts STANAG-pattern detachable magazines and has a typical capacity of 30+1.
Furniture includes a 6-position collapsible polymer stock and an A2-style textured polymer pistol grip. The carbine-length, two-piece ribbed polymer handguard with vent holes completes the setup. The receivers and furniture wear a matte black finish, while the barrel is bright silver/in-the-white with a non-black A2 flash suppressor. It is marked Made in U.S.A., and is built in the USA.
