The Micro Compact format delivers a short 3-inch slide and barrel with a bushingless bull profile for added muzzle weight and reliable lockup. The Officer's-length (short) grip frame uses an arched mainspring housing and a 7+1 capacity in .40 S&W.
It features a two-tone finish with a matte stainless slide over a dark-finished frame. The slide includes rear cocking serrations and a lowered/flared ejection port. Factory markings read "MICRO COMPACT CAL .40 S&W" on the left side and "SPRINGFIELD ARMORY" on the right; the barrel hood is marked "S.A. .40 S&W."
Controls and ergonomics are classic 1911 single-action with a left-side manual thumb safety, grip safety, and a beavertail grip safety. A skeletonized commander-style hammer and 3-hole trigger complete the carry-friendly fire-control setup.
