The 687 Ultralight Deluxe is part of Beretta's 680-series over/under design, built around a lightweight Ergal aluminum-alloy receiver that is reinforced with titanium at key wear points. The receiver wears a coin/nickel finish and shows factory-executed floral scroll engraving with gold-inlaid game birds.
Its 28-inch vent-rib barrels are marked "EXCELSIOR–HIGH STRENGTH ALLOYED STEEL" and are chambered for 2 3/4 shells. A metal front bead sits on the ventilated rib, giving a clean sight picture appropriate for field or clays.
The shotgun features a single, gold-colored trigger and a tang safety. Ejectors are present and properly timed, and lock-up is tight with ample life in the locking lug, reflecting solid mechanical condition.
Stocked in oil-finished walnut, it has a pistol grip, crisp checkering, and a slim field forend. Length of pull measures 14.0, and the stock has slight right-hand cast-off to aid a natural mount for right-handed shooters. The buttplate is a black synthetic Beretta plate with the trident logo molded into the surface.
Italian proof and inspection marks are present on the monobloc, with a Made in Italy oval cartouche and a "MADE IN ITALY" marking on the receiver belly. The barrels and action show matching serials with a separate assembly number on the barrel lug, consistent with factory assembly.
