Built on the M14 platform, this M1A Standard features a 22-inch standard-profile barrel, a 20+1 capacity in 7.62mm NATO (7.62x51), and a gas-operated, rotating-bolt, short-stroke piston action. Receiver production is circa 2002–2003 and the rifle is made in the United States.
The barrel is a USGI TRW unit marked 7790190 and dated 10-1965. It is paired with an operating rod marked 7267064-SA and a complete M14 gas system including the gas cylinder, gas cylinder lock, and gas cylinder lock screw (gas plug). A slotted M14-pattern flash suppressor is fitted. Sighting is via a wing-protected front sight and an adjustable aperture rear sight with windage and elevation knobs.
The action is glass bedded to the stock for a snug, stable fit. The stock is a Springfield Armory commercial synthetic (polymer) unit with molded checkering, a checkered pistol grip, and a steel buttplate with trapdoor. It wears a green/tan/black camouflage finish and is matched to a fiberglass handguard with longitudinal ribs. Length of pull measures 13.0 inches.
A Springfield Armory receiver-mounted scope base with Picatinny rail is installed for mounting optics, while the iron sights remain fully usable. An OD web sling is fitted for carry and support. The rifle includes a 20-round M14-type steel magazine, plus a spare walnut M14 stock with a foreign-character cartouche and an additional brown fiberglass handguard.
