The M&P40 M2.0 Compact 3.6 is the no-thumb-safety configuration, combining a striker-fired action with bilateral slide stop levers and a left-side takedown lever. The slide is marked M&P 40 and M2.0, with the right side marked SMITH & WESSON, SPRINGFIELD, MA U.S.A.
Built around a stainless-steel slide and 3.6-inch stainless barrel treated with a black Armornite nitride finish, this model measures 6.8 inches overall and weighs 26.7 ounces unloaded. The polymer frame incorporates the embedded stainless-steel chassis and aftermarket stippled texture (replacing the factory M2.0 texture), plus a three-slot Picatinny-style accessory rail on the dustcover. Front grasping serrations and scalloped rear serrations aid slide manipulation.
AmeriGlo tritium night sights are installed: a green tritium front dot paired with a two-dot tritium rear. The interchangeable palmswell inserts allow grip-size tailoring to the shooter.
