It retains the naval engagement roll-engraved cylinder, London-pattern steel round trigger guard and steel backstrap, and matching serial numbers observed on multiple major components. It comes housed in a wooden presentation/transport case with a circular brass lid escutcheon.

    Condition

Overall Condition: Good condition, showing some signs of prior use and handling.

The pistol is in solid shape for its age and background. There is widespread finish patina with scratches and blemishes across the pistol. Spots of pitting are present in many locations.

    What’s Included
    • Wooden presentation/transport case with circular brass lid escutcheon

The top barrel flat is stamped "ADDRESS COL. COLT LONDON," and the cylinder carries British proof marks between chambers, confirming its export-marked configuration. The London-pattern steel round trigger guard and steel backstrap align with the London-address features that distinguish this example.

Chambered in .36 caliber and built on a single-action percussion cap-and-ball system, it features a 7.5-inch octagonal steel barrel, fixed sights with a cone/pin front and hammer-notch rear, and an under-barrel loading lever. The six-shot steel cylinder retains the naval engagement roll-engraving.

Construction is all steel for the frame, receiver, and cylinder, paired with a one-piece walnut grip. Markings include "COLTS PATENT" on the left side of the frame, with the wedge and its retaining screw present.

Manufactured in 1855 and classified as an antique, this British-proofed, London-address 1851 Navy presents collector-meaningful attributes such as its specific export markings, naval scene cylinder, and matching serial numbers observed on multiple major components. It is accompanied by a period-style wooden case that enhances presentation and transport.
