The Gold Cup National Match lineage is evident throughout this MK IV/Series 80 example. The National Match barrel is marked on the hood and mates with a flat-topped slide rib cut with longitudinal serrations. A lowered ejection port and rear-only vertical cocking serrations support the model's target-focused design. Rollmarks include the Gold Cup trophy emblem.
Sighting is handled by a Colt Elliason-type fully adjustable rear sight paired with a fixed front blade that carries an orange insert for quick reference. The sight radius is approximately 6.5 inches. The match-grade trigger includes an overtravel adjustment for a clean break and consistent control, while the skeletonized Commander-style hammer completes the target setup.
Construction is stainless steel with brushed flats and matte rounds/top for a purposeful, glare-reducing presentation. The frame is undercut behind the trigger guard for a higher grip, and an upswept/beavertail grip safety enhances hand placement. This is a full-size Government pattern with a 5 in barrel and a 7+1 capacity in .45 ACP.
This Series 80 pistol retains its firing-pin safety system along with the traditional 1911 grip safety and single-action-only operation. Factory markings note United States manufacture and 1990s production. Included are Hogue wraparound rubber finger-groove grips and a bolt-on magazine well funnel, plus two 7-round magazines and the Colt owner's manual.
