The factory two-tone finish defines this Combat Elite: polished blued slide sides with a matte top over a matte stainless steel frame. Wrap-around finger-groove rubber grips with wood side inlays and Pachmayr medallions complete the period-correct 1980s presentation. The arched mainspring housing features a fish-scale/checkered texture.
Target-oriented sighting includes a fully adjustable rear sight paired with a fixed, ramped front blade. The approximate 6.5-inch sight radius supports precise alignment, while the slide’s matte top reduces glare. A lowered and flared ejection port is factory-cut.
The Series 80 action is single-action, locked-breech, tilting-barrel, with an internal firing-pin block for added drop safety. Controls include a standard magazine release, a thumb safety, and a grip safety. The long, lightened three-hole trigger provides a familiar 1911 trigger face.
Mechanically, it is a Government-size 5-inch .45 ACP with an 8+1 capacity. The pistol is fitted with a full-length guide rod with an open-face recoil spring plug for reliable function.
The bore condition is excellent with a clean, mirror finish and sharp rifling, aligning with the overall presentation of a well-cared-for example of Colt’s Combat Elite from 1986, made in the United States.
