What’s Included
- Integral folding spike bayonet (installed)
Built on the compact Moschetto Mod. 91/38 Cavalleria pattern, this carbine uses a 17.7-inch steel barrel and a blued steel receiver mated to a hardwood stock with a short upper handguard. The stock incorporates a left-side sling slot and a fore-end bayonet channel, and the butt is capped with a steel buttplate.
The action is a bolt-action system with a straight bolt handle and round knob. Feeding is via a Mannlicher-style en-bloc 5-round clip that ejects automatically after the last round. The safety is the rotating cocking piece type.
Sighting equipment is straightforward and robust, with a fixed front blade and a fixed rear notch positioned forward of the receiver. The rifle has a 12.5-inch length of pull and a 5-round capacity.
Markings and period features underscore its WWII origin: the barrel carries the dual date "1942-XX," and the receiver is marked "P. BERETTA - GARDONE V.T." The permanently attached, under-barrel folding spike bayonet stows neatly in a channel beneath the fore-end, as characteristic of the Cavalleria configuration.
