Built on a stainless-steel frame with matching stainless barrel and cylinder, this Public Defender carries a uniform matte stainless finish. The five-shot cylinder is fluted longitudinally and paired with a knurled ejector-rod tip and a partial underlug/window for efficient extraction. Controls include a checkered cylinder-release latch and a checkered spurred hammer.
Chambered for .45 Colt and 2.5 in .410 shotshells (non-Magnum), it uses a 2-inch barrel to keep the package compact while maintaining the Judge’s dual-caliber versatility. The action is double-action/single-action with a smooth trigger, and the grip is Taurus' finger-grooved Ribber rubber for a secure hold.
Sighting is straightforward with an orange fiber-optic front and a fixed rear groove. The revolver incorporates the Taurus Security System (key lock) for storage security when engaged.
