Belgian manufacture by FN and 1965 dating place this Sweet Sixteen squarely in the desirable mid-1960s era. The left receiver carries the script "Sweet Sixteen," and the factory scroll engraving frames the "BROWNING" name, all set on the classic Auto-5 humpback receiver.
The steel, 28" plain barrel is marked "SPECIAL STEEL - 16 GAUGE - SHELLS 2 3/4" and wears a fixed Full choke, denoted by the single asterisk stamp. A simple front sighting arrangement provides a clean sight picture. The chamber is 2 3/4", matching the barrel callout.
Operating on Browning's long-recoil system, this right-side-ejecting Auto-5 includes a right-side knurled charging handle and the external magazine cut-off lever on the left side of the receiver. Capacity is 2+1 in its tubular magazine.
The walnut stock set features a round-knob pistol grip with cut checkering and a matching checkered walnut forearm. Length of pull measures 14.25". The receiver is steel, and the trigger is gold-colored, consistent with period Browning styling.
