Built by Molot-Oruzhie Ltd. in Vyatskie Polyany, Russia, this VEPR uses a heavier RPK-pattern stamped-steel receiver with a bulged, reinforced front trunnion. The four-rivet trunnion pattern is visible, underscoring the rifle’s RPK lineage. The action is the proven long-stroke gas piston system, paired with a right-side safety/selector lever marked "S" and "F."
The 16.5 inch barrel features a threaded muzzle, and the rifle is configured with a 90-degree gas block. A sling loop is positioned at the handguard retainer. Chambered in 7.62x39, it feeds from detachable box magazines, and one 10-round magazine is included.
Sighting equipment consists of an AKM-pattern front post and an RPK-type tangent rear sight with a windage drum, providing precise mechanical adjustment. This setup is true to the VEPR’s RPK-style build and offers a clear, durable sight picture.
The rifle’s furniture includes a right-side folding metal stock with a polymer cheek piece and a rubber buttpad, a ribbed RPK-style polymer handguard, and a black polymer pistol grip. Length of pull is 13.75 inches, offering a compact, controllable configuration when folded and solid shoulder support when deployed.
Importer markings read FIME Group, Las Vegas, NV, with Molot-Oruzhie factory markings present. U.S. imports of Molot products were halted in June 2017 due to OFAC sanctions, and VEPR rifles are no longer being imported. The included magazine’s body is stamped "US 7.62x39" just above the baseplate.
