The CZ 40 P represents a limited-run variant linked to the CZ-40B and Colt Z40 project, offering a compact .40 S&W platform built in the Czech Republic and marked CZ-USA Kansas City, KS. This example has matching slide and frame serial numbers and retains the original factory test sheet dated May 30, 2007.
It operates on a short-recoil, locked-breech system and uses a DA/SA trigger with a decocker. Safety features include a firing pin block and hammer safety stop. Controls are straightforward, with a left-side magazine release and a standard trigger for consistent control.
The pistol is built on an alloy frame with a matte black finish and a matching matte black slide. It uses a ring-type spur hammer and comes fitted with checkered rubber grip panels with CZ medallions, providing a secure hold without added bulk.
Sights are fixed 3-dot, with a drift-adjustable rear in a dovetail and a front sight that is replaceable by height to fine-tune point of impact. The slide includes an external extractor, enlarged ejection port, and a rear sight dovetail for secure retention and serviceability.
