This full-size N-frame, square-butt Model 29-2 is a six-shot .44 Remington Magnum with recessed chambers and a fluted cylinder. It also accepts .44 Special, offering flexibility at the range. The partial underlug and shrouded ejector rod complement the long barrel profile.
The 8 3/8 in. carbon steel barrel is pinned and features a serrated rib and serrated topstrap to reduce glare. Sight regulation is precise with a Baughman ramp front sight with red insert and an S&W micrometer-adjustable rear sight.
Target-style features include a wide, checkered hammer spur. The trigger is a factory S&W unit as shown. Checkered hardwood target stocks with S&W medallions provide a solid interface, and the action is traditional DA/SA with an external hammer.
The high-polish factory blue finish extends across the carbon steel frame, cylinder, and barrel, with the S&W crest on the right side of the frame. Made in the United States and manufactured in 1980, this example is accompanied by its original presentation case and maintenance tools.
