This Rock Island Armory M1911-A1 FS Tactical is a full-size, Series 70-pattern 1911 chambered in 9mm Luger with a 5 in barrel and a parkerized/phosphate finish that shows the typical contrast between components: the forged slide presents a darker charcoal/black tone while the cast frame appears a lighter gray. It features ambidextrous controls, an upswept beavertail grip safety, and a tuned, skeletonized trigger and hammer. The slide is forged 4140 steel and the frame is 4140 carbon steel. It comes with three 9-round magazines, the factory hard case, and the original owner's manual, with import markings APINTL–Pahrump NV / Philippines.

The Tactical submodel adds user-focused upgrades to the classic 1911 format, including ambidextrous thumb safety levers and an upswept beavertail grip safety with a memory bump for consistent engagement. The skeletonized hammer and 3-hole trigger with an over-travel screw complement the Series 70-pattern lockwork.
The government-length 5 in barrel uses a standard barrel bushing and GI recoil spring plug. The slide carries rear serrations only and fixed, dovetailed sights: a low-profile rear and a front blade with a single white dot. Rock Island's 65-degree dovetail cuts are used for the sight interfaces.
Construction is robust, with a 4140 carbon steel cast frame paired to a 4140 forged slide. The parkerized/phosphate finish displays the common RIA contrast between substrates: a darker charcoal/black slide and a lighter gray frame.
This pistol runs a single-stack 9-round magazine system for a 9+1 capacity. Checkered grips with Rock Island Armory medallions provide a secure hold. Import and origin markings read APINTL–Pahrump NV / Philippines.
