The Rock Island Armory M1911 A1 TAC Ultra MS is a Commander-length 10mm 1911 built on a steel frame and slide with a matte black parkerized finish. It features an orange fiber-optic front sight paired with a fully adjustable rear, an integral three-slot Picatinny rail, and a flared magwell. Textured grey/black G10-style grip panels, a skeletonized trigger and hammer, and a beavertail grip safety with memory pad round out this mid-size (Commander-length) TAC Ultra configuration.
This TAC Ultra MS includes a full-length guide rod, rear cocking serrations, and single-action operation. The frame is roll-marked "M1911 A1 MS TACT," and the barrel hood is stamped "CAL. 10MM." Import markings read "APINTL – Pahrump NV / ACP Philippines," with manufacture in the Philippines. Manufacturer part number is 51994.
Sight alignment is fast and precise thanks to the bright fiber-optic front and a fully adjustable square-notch rear. The integral three-slot Picatinny rail on the dustcover allows mounting of compatible accessories. The steel construction and parkerized finish provide a uniform, matte-black appearance.
Controls and handling features include a left-side thumb safety, a beavertail grip safety with memory pad, a skeletonized hammer, and a skeletonized trigger with lightening cuts. The mainspring housing incorporates a flared magazine well/funnel for efficient reloads. Capacity is 8+1 with the included single-stack 10mm magazine.
