Constructed of ordnance steel with a Parkerized finish, the rifle uses the M1’s gas-operated, semi-automatic system with a rotating bolt and a right-side operating rod handle. It retains the standard 24-inch barrel and 8-round capacity.
Furniture includes a hardwood stock and two hardwood handguards, a checkered steel buttplate with a trapdoor, and the correct steel hardware. Sighting is via an aperture rear sight with windage and elevation knobs and a winged front sight.
