Built on a Winchester-marked M14 receiver, the heel legend reads "U.S. RIFLE 7.62MM M14 WINCHESTER TRADE MARK," with an additional "JRA BURGAW NC" marking on the left side. Winchester was one of four U.S. M14 contractors.
The rifle is configured for semi-automatic operation with no selector. It uses the M14’s short-stroke gas piston system with a rotating bolt and feeds from a detachable box magazine with a 20+1 capacity in 7.62x51 NATO.
