The Aegis Elite Custom is a full-size 1911 platform with a 5-inch bushing barrel and single-action operation. It is chambered in .45 ACP and features a two-tone finish: a dark gray slide over a satin silver stainless steel frame. Made in the United States, it carries clear model and maker markings: "AEGIS ELITE CUSTOM" on the slide and "KIMBER YONKERS NY USA" on the frame.
The slide is cut for a micro red dot and is equipped with a Vortex Venom 6 MOA red dot sight, complemented by a tall front blade iron sight. Distinctive AEX diamond-pattern cocking serrations are present at the front and rear of the slide, providing a confident grasp during manipulations.
Controls and ergonomics include a manual thumb safety and a beavertail grip safety. The pistol uses a skeletonized long trigger with lightening windows and a skeletonized rowel-style hammer. The front strap features fine checkering, and the mainspring housing is serrated for added purchase. A rounded heel/butt and a subtly beveled magazine well aid handling and reloads.
