Manufactured in 1948 by FN Herstal for Browning, this Auto-5 Light Twelve is a post-WWII example made in Belgium. It bears Belgian Liège proofmarks, the 12-70 chamber mark, and the oval FN mark. The receiver is factory-engraved with scrollwork on both sides and is marked "Light Twelve."
The shotgun is equipped with a 28-inch plain steel barrel and a fixed Full choke, identified by the Belgian "*" code. The chamber is 2 3/4 inches, and the barrel carries the Browning Arms Company St. Louis MO address. A single-bead front sight provides a simple, traditional sight picture.
It operates on the classic long-recoil, semi-automatic Auto-5 system and includes the adjustable friction-ring setup. The tubular magazine provides a 4+1 capacity. A front-of-trigger safety is fitted in keeping with the period design.
