This 1982 Browning Citori Grade V pairs proven Citori mechanics with elaborate factory engraving and a coin-finish receiver. It features 26 in Special Steel barrels with a vented, matted rib and dual beads, 2 3/4 in and 3 in chambers, and a single-selective gold-plated trigger with tang safety and barrel selector. High-gloss walnut with fine checkering and right-hand cast-off completes a classic, Type II-era Miroku build.
Condition

Bore Condition: Good - Clean, well-maintained, minor wear marks.
Specific Condition Notes: Minor scratches and blemishes are present on exterior surfaces. There is ample life left in the locking lug. Firing pins are in great shape. Ejectors are properly timed. The stock is set with right-hand cast-off.

The Grade V treatment stands out with a coin-finished receiver and factory engraving that includes scrolls and detailed game scenes: upland birds on one side, waterfowl in flight on the other, and a pointing dog with quail on the floorplate. The trigger guard is engraved, and the top lever, tang, forend iron, and latch carry complementary scrollwork.
The 26 in Special Steel barrels are chambered for both 2 3/4 in and 3 in shells. A vented, matted rib with a white/ivory front bead and a mid-bead provides a clean sighting plane. Barrel and receiver markings include: "SPECIAL STEEL 12GA - 2 3/4 in AND 3 in - 26 in" and "BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN, UTAH & MONTREAL P.Q. - MADE IN JAPAN."
Mechanically, it uses a break-action over/under layout with a single-selective, gold-plated trigger. A tang-mounted safety with integrated barrel selector allows quick control. Automatic ejectors are properly timed, supporting fast, consistent operation.
The stock and field forend are high-gloss walnut with fine checkering and a pistol-grip profile, offering a classic Browning feel. Right-hand cast-off and a 14.5 in length of pull provide a defined fit. A Browning-branded buttplate with spacer is installed.
Built by Miroku for Browning during the Citori Type II period (circa 1978–1982), this shotgun dates to 1982, denoted by the PY code. It precedes Browning’s 1983 Invector rollout and retains matching assembly markings on the forend and barrel set, consistent with an original pairing.
