Part of the LCP MAX series, this pistol is built around Ruger’s locked-breech, recoil-operated Secure Action single-action system with an internal hammer. It uses a left-side, button-style magazine release and a bladed trigger safety. The micro-size profile and 2.8 in steel barrel deliver a compact footprint while retaining a 10+1 capacity in .380 ACP. Note: Factory end labels may list a 2.75 in barrel length due to rounding; Ruger’s published specification is 2.8 in.
The two-tone matte stainless slide features front and rear serrations, diagonal accent serrations, and pronounced integral rear cocking ears for added purchase. Sights are steel, with a tritium front dot with white outline and a serrated, drift-adjustable U-notch rear. The front sight is marked "HZ H3 25."
Materials and finishes are purpose-driven: a black polymer frame over an aluminum receiver, a steel barrel, and a two-tone slide finish. Factory markings include "LCP MAX" on the slide, ".380 AUTO" on the chamber, and molded frame text "RUGER MAYODAN, NC USA" and "PISTOL WILL FIRE WITH MAGAZINE REMOVED."
