This Colt MK IV Series 80 Lightweight Officer's ACP is a compact .45 ACP 1911 built in 1990. It combines a 3.5-inch barrel with an aluminum alloy frame for a lighter carry profile, and it uses the Officer's/Compact dual recoil-spring assembly. Built on the proven 1911 platform, this Officer's ACP pairs a compact 3.5-inch barrel with an aluminum alloy frame to reduce weight while retaining .45 ACP performance. Capacity is 6+1, and the matte dark finish presents a purposeful look.
The Series 80 system adds a firing pin block to the classic single-action operation. A standard thumb safety, a Commander-style rowel hammer, and a standard magazine release round out the familiar 1911 controls. The Officer's/Compact dual recoil-spring assembly is designed specifically for this shorter slide and barrel length.
Sight picture is straightforward and durable: a low-profile square-notch rear and a fixed front blade with a white dot. The slide has rear cocking serrations only, maintaining a clean front profile.
Factory markings include left slide rollmark "COLT MK IV - SERIES 80" with the Rampant Colt logo, and right slide rollmark "LIGHTWEIGHT OFFICER'S ACP." The barrel hood is marked "COLT 45 AUTO," and the frame carries the Colt Hartford, Conn. U.S.A. address line. This pistol was manufactured in the United States in 1990.
The Pachmayr Signature Model wrap-around grips with Pachmayr crest/"P" medallions provide a secure hold, and the included 6-round magazine is marked "MADE IN ITALY."
