The MK1 is built on the AR-15 platform and uses SOLGW's MK1 DriveLock upper-to-rail interface designed to minimize rail deflection and allow secure bridging of optics and lasers. The MK1 free-float aluminum M-LOK handguard features a continuous 12 o'clock Picatinny rail with T-marks, and the upper/handguard interface presents a flush, bridged fit.
Barrel details include a 14.5 inch length and a threaded muzzle with a 5/8x24 pattern. A SureFire SF3P-556 three-prong flash hider is installed and is not pinned or welded. The caliber is 5.56mm NATO, and the ejection-port cover is marked 5.56.
Controls are ambidextrous where it matters: the charging handle and selector are ambi and SOLGW-branded. The trigger uses a curved shoe with a distinctive Texas-outline logo on the trigger face. An enlarged fence surrounds the magazine release for added control protection.
Internals include a silver-finished, NP3-coated SOLGW bolt carrier group visible through the ejection port. The receiver set is aluminum with a hard-coat anodized finish. The pistol configuration uses a smooth pistol receiver extension with no stock or brace.
Optics and capacity are straightforward and proven. A SIG Sauer ROMEO5 red-dot sight (red dot reticle) is installed on a riser. The platform accepts STANAG-pattern magazines, and stated capacity is 30+1.
