This Defender uses a 3-inch bull, bushingless barrel paired with a captured dual-spring recoil system and reverse plug, an arrangement purpose-built for short-slide 1911 function. Chambered in .45 ACP with a 7+1 capacity, it maintains the familiar 1911 manual of arms in a micro-sized format.
The two-tone stainless/silver finish combines a stainless slide with brushed flats and matte rounds over a matte silver aluminum-alloy frame. The slide is cut with rear cocking serrations and features a lowered and flared ejection port.
Sight regulation is handled by fixed Novak Low-Mount 3-dot sights, dovetailed front and rear. The front carries a single white dot, while the rear presents two white dots for a straightforward sight picture.
Controls include single-action operation with a locked-breech design, a grip safety, a manual thumb safety, and the Series 80 firing-pin safety. A skeletonized three-hole trigger and a skeletonized Commander-style hammer round out the fire-control components.
Red/black laminated checkered grip panels with the COLT oval provide a positive hold and a classic Colt appearance. The pistol is manufactured in the United States.
