The Special Purpose configuration delivers a full-coverage factory camouflage finish on the receiver, barrel, forend, and stock, built around a steel receiver marked "Remington 870 MAGNUM" and "SPECIAL PURPOSE." The oval REP proof is present. This setup is built in the USA and configured for 3-inch magnum 12 Gauge shells with a 4+1 capacity.
The 21-inch vent-rib barrel uses RemChoke screw-in chokes and is currently fitted with a Remington Turkey Super Full extended, knurled choke tube labeled for lead shot only. It includes a single front bead for quick sighting. The threaded barrel provides easy choke changes to suit different applications.
The action is pump-operated with a cross-bolt safety. The 3-inch magnum receiver offers added versatility with modern magnum 12 Gauge loads while maintaining the Model 870’s well-known handling characteristics.
