The M&P9 M2.0 full-size platform integrates an extended embedded steel chassis and low bore axis design, paired with an ambidextrous manual thumb safety and ambidextrous slide stop. The polymer frame accepts interchangeable palmswell inserts (S, M, ML, L) to fine-tune hand fit. Tall white-dot iron sights provide a clear sight picture.
The factory optics-ready slide includes an optics cut that uses Smith & Wesson’s plate system for common footprints. Front and rear slide serrations aid manipulation. Both the slide and the 4.25-inch barrel are stainless steel with a durable black Armornite finish. The barrel uses 1:10 RH rifling with five lands and grooves.
Dimensions are set for duty-length balance, with a 7.4-inch overall length, 5.5-inch height, and 1.16-inch width, weighing 29 ounces. The sight radius measures 6.5 inches. A multi-slot Picatinny-style accessory rail on the dust cover supports lights or other rail-mounted accessories.
Capacity is 17+1 with the included magazines. The slide is marked 'CAUTION CAPABLE OF FIRING WITH MAGAZINE REMOVED,' indicating there is no magazine disconnect. The flat-faced, hinged M2.0 trigger offers a tactile and audible reset for consistent shot-to-shot control.
