What’s Included
- Tula Mosin-Nagant Model 1891 Infantry rifle in 7.62x54R
- Attached cleaning rod
Built at Imperial Tula Arsenal in 1916, this M1891 uses a hexagonal ("hex") receiver with a round barrel shank and bears the Imperial double-headed eagle crest on the shank. It is the long Infantry pattern with a 31.5 in barrel, full-length handguard, and a hardwood stock with crossbolt reinforcement and bottom sling swivels.
The rifle is fitted with the M1891 Konovalov tangent rear sight, complete with protective ears and graduations in arshini, paired with an unhooded blade front sight. This sighting arrangement is correct for the period and model.
The barrel is Finnish 'D' marked at the receiver/barrel junction, indicating the throat modification intended for the D-166 heavy-ball profile. This is a distinct and sought-after update found on rifles that saw Finnish service or refurbishment.
Configuration remains classic: a fixed 5-round internal magazine, a front sight base with bayonet lug for the socket bayonet, and a bolt left in the white contrasted against blued receiver components. The rifle carries a CAI ST ALB VT import mark reading "M91 7.62R RUSSIA." Mixed serial numbers are present between the barrel and bolt. A cleaning rod is installed.
