The operating system is gas-operated with a short-stroke piston. Controls include an ambidextrous safety selector and ambidextrous magazine release, plus a non-reciprocating ambidextrous charging handle and a single-stage trigger.
Construction highlights include a monolithic aluminum upper and a polymer trigger module/lower. The Flat Dark Earth two-tone finish covers the aluminum receiver and polymer frame components for a cohesive look.
Mounting surfaces are extensive: a full-length MIL-STD-1913 top rail with position numbers, plus short Picatinny rail segments on the sides and bottom of the aluminum fore-end, with the bottom rail extending under the gas block. The rear receiver backplate integrates a vertical 1913 VPR section with bilateral QD sling cups.
