This custom M40A1-style rifle is built on a Remington 700 short action that has been trued and blueprinted, then paired with a 24-inch Krieger heavy-contour barrel. The action is pillar- and Devcon-bedded into a McMillan HTG fiberglass stock with an inlaid woodland camo finish. A receiver clip-slot is cut into the rear bridge, and the rifle features Winchester-pattern one-piece hinged floorplate bottom metal with a stock inlet to match. A Hi-Lux M40 3-9x40 MK2 scope is included but not mounted; a one-piece base and rings are installed.

This build centers on a Remington 700 short action that has been trued and blueprinted for precise alignment and consistent lockup. The receiver includes a clip-slot cut in the rear bridge, and the barrel shank is stamped 7.62 to denote its chambering.
The barrel is a 24-inch Krieger heavy-contour unit with a recessed target crown. It is non-fluted with a matte finish, and it is paired to an aftermarket thickened recoil lug to support the heavy tube and maintain stability under recoil.
The action is pillar-bedded and Devcon-bedded into a McMillan HTG fiberglass stock finished in a woodland camo pattern. The stock features a straight comb, rubber recoil pad, two sling studs, and a QD front swivel. Length of pull is 13.5 inches.
Feeding is via an internal box magazine with a capacity of 4+1. The rifle uses Winchester-pattern one-piece hinged floorplate bottom metal, and the stock is inlet for this configuration. This is a one-piece bottom metal rather than the two-piece pattern used on some USMC rifles.
Optics are set up with a one-piece scope base and two rings installed. The included Hi-Lux M40 3-9x40 MK2 scope (1-inch main tube) completes the package, and a leather 1907-style sling is already installed. A padded soft case, plus the scope's box and manual, are included.
