Sights are a protected front post with an LPA ghost-ring rear mounted on a receiver Picatinny rail. Custom upgrades include an oversized charging handle, an enlarged bolt-release pad, and a short accessory rail on the right side of the fore-end. The receiver is marked "m2" and the bolt is marked "BENELLI ARMI SYSTEM," with Italian proof and importer markings present.

The inertia-driven semiautomatic action provides a proven operating system in a compact tactical format. This M2 Tactical uses an 18.5 in steel barrel paired with Benelli’s interchangeable choke system and comes fitted with an Improved Cylinder choke. The 3 in chamber accepts both 2 3/4 in and 3 in 12 gauge shells.
Sighting is set up for quick target acquisition with a protected front post and an LPA ghost-ring rear sight mounted on a receiver Picatinny rail. A small accessory rail section on the right side of the fore-end offers a mounting point for a light or other compatible accessory.
Capacity is enhanced by a full-length magazine extension that runs to the muzzle for a 7+1 configuration. Controls are optimized with an oversized charging handle and an enlarged bolt-release pad, and a cross-bolt safety provides straightforward operation.
The shotgun is built around a matte-black aluminum alloy receiver and a matte-black steel barrel, matched to a durable black synthetic stock with a fixed, pistol-grip configuration. The length of pull measures approximately 14.25 in, with a black synthetic fore-end for a secure hold.
Factory markings include the "m2" designation on the receiver and "BENELLI ARMI SYSTEM" on the bolt. Italian proof marks and importer markings read "BENELLI U.S.A. CORP. – ACCOKEEK, MD – MADE IN ITALY" and "BENELLI ARMI S.P.A. – URBINO – MADE IN ITALY," underscoring its Italian manufacture.
