Built in Kimber's Custom Shop, the Pro Elite is a pre-Series II configuration with no "II" slide marking. This example carries the KPE-prefix serial range and Yonkers, NY U.S.A. frame marking, aligning it with late-1990s production.
The Pro-length 4-inch slide combines with a full-size grip for a compact-profile 1911 that maintains a 7+1 capacity in .45 ACP. The slide uses rear-only slanted cocking serrations and a lowered, flared ejection port to aid reliability.
Its two-tone aesthetic pairs a matte dark slide over a silver metal frame. Factory machine-checkering on the frontstrap and a flat checkered mainspring housing enhance purchase, complemented by double-diamond checkered wood grips.
Fire controls include a beavertail grip safety, a single-side extended thumb safety, a skeletonized commander-style hammer, and a skeletonized three-hole trigger. Sighting is straightforward with a fixed, low-profile rear and a dovetailed front.
