What's Included
- Harrington & Richardson M16A1 Retro Series semi-automatic rifle (5.56 NATO)
- 1x 20-round steel straight-body AR-15/M16 magazine (aftermarket steel, not the aluminum USGI type)
Forged receivers and period-correct markings set this rifle apart. The left receiver bears the H&R circle-lion logo with "PROPERTY OF U.S. GOVT. M16A1 CAL. 5.56MM," while the right side is marked "HARRINGTON & RICHARDSON WEST COLUMBIA, SC U.S.A." Selector legends follow the GI-style SAFE–SEMI–AUTO format.
The upper has the fixed A1 carry handle with forward assist and no brass deflector, matching the classic configuration.
The 20" pencil-profile barrel uses a rifle-length gas system and is threaded 1/2x28 with an A1 birdcage flash hider. An A-frame front sight base with bayonet lug pairs with the fixed A1 carry-handle rear sight for the original sight picture buyers expect from an A1-pattern rifle.
Furniture is true to form: a fixed A1-length polymer stock in a dark gray/black tone with a ribbed buttplate and rear sling swivel, an A1-style pistol grip, and round, ribbed, two-piece rifle-length handguards (A2 type) with a round front cap, retained by a round slip ring. Length of pull measures 13.0".
This semi-automatic, direct-impingement rifle accepts STANAG-pattern magazines and ships with a 20-round steel straight-body AR-15/M16 magazine (aftermarket steel, not the aluminum USGI type). It is a recent H&R Retro Series release, produced in the USA, and captures the essential look and handling of the M16A1 while remaining a modern reproduction.
