The 4.71" barrel is cold hammer-forged, threaded 0.578x28 TPI, and finished with a recessed target crown. This setup supports common .45 ACP muzzle devices while preserving accuracy and barrel life.
The slide features front and rear serrations, protective sight wings, and an optics cut with a cover plate. FN's Low-Profile Optics Mounting System uses a multi-footprint slide cut and the included adapter plates to accept a range of micro red dots, with co-witness capability through the suppressor-height Trijicon 3-dot night sights.
The FDE polymer frame includes interchangeable backstraps and an integral Picatinny-type accessory rail for lights or lasers. Ambidextrous slide stop levers support bilateral manipulation, and the striker-fired action uses a flat-faced trigger with a safety tab and integrated trigger safety.
Chambered in .45 ACP, the 545 Tactical ships with two 10-round magazines for a 10+1 capacity. Factory markings include "545" on the slide, ".45 ACP" on the chamber hood, and "FN COLUMBIA, SC USA" on the right side.
