This limited-edition Mini-14 GB commemorates the 50th Anniversary of the FBI National Academy with factory engraving on the receiver and a silver-tone FBINAA medallion in the stock. It is a collectible, limited-production variant produced in 1984 during the 1980s era of Mini-14 manufacture in the United States.
The GB configuration includes a threaded 18.5-inch stainless barrel with a slotted flash suppressor, a bayonet lug, and a protected blade front sight on the GB base. It retains the non-Ranch receiver setup with an adjustable aperture rear sight flanked by protective ears and no integral scope-ring cuts.
Construction is all-stainless for the barrel and receiver, paired with a hardwood fixed stock featuring sling swivels and smooth, non-checkered surfaces. A black synthetic ventilated upper handguard completes the classic service-style profile. The action is Ruger’s semi-automatic, short-stroke gas piston system with a right-side charging handle.
Chambered in 5.56mm NATO, the receiver is marked "RUGER MINI-14 CAL. .223" as seen on period rifles. Capacity is 30+1, and this example includes two 30-round magazines and one 20-round magazine. Its pre-1994 configuration with the flash suppressor and bayonet lug underscores its pre-ban status.
