This H&R M1 Garand is a United States-made, gas-operated, rotating-bolt, semi-automatic rifle chambered in .30-06 with the classic 24-inch barrel and 8-round en-bloc clip system. It wears the standard USGI parkerized matte grey finish and the correct receiver heel marking: "U.S. RIFLE CAL. .30 M1 H. & R.
ARMS CO."
Produced in 1955 as part of Harrington & Richardson's post-Korean War contract run, this rifle sits within a documented mid-1950s output of approximately 428,600 rifles. The stock carries the boxed eagle-over-three-stars (DAS) acceptance cartouche on the left side and a circled P proof behind the trigger guard, aligning with period USGI inspection practices.
The full-length hardwood stock and two-piece hardwood handguards retain the proper service configuration, including front and rear sling swivels and a stacking swivel. Up front, the gas cylinder includes the lock and lock screw, and the bayonet lug is integral to the gas cylinder, as per USGI pattern.
