- .22 LR conversion barrel assembly with captive recoil spring for HK4
The HK4 embodies H&K's early commercial innovation with a modular system that allows caliber changes. This example is chambered in .380 ACP and includes a .22 LR conversion barrel assembly, underscoring the platform's versatile, multi-caliber design.
Built with a steel slide and 3.35-inch steel barrel on a hard-anodized aluminum alloy frame, the pistol uses a DA/SA blowback action with an external hammer. Black wraparound checkered grips with the HK logo provide a secure, comfortable hold in a compact footprint.
Controls and safety features include a slide-mounted manual safety, magazine safety, slide-position safety, and a firing pin pivot safety. Forward-angled slide serrations aid manipulation, and a red dot indicates the fire position.
Fixed sights consist of a small ramped front and a square-notch rear for a clear, straightforward sight picture. Disassembly is accomplished via the front trigger-guard barrel-clamp latch, a hallmark of the HK4 design.
Import and proof details include "Harrington & Richardson Inc., Worcester, Mass USA — Made in Germany" markings and the circular 1871–1971 crest. An oval caliber indicator insert marked "9 k" confirms the .380 ACP configuration, and capacity is 8+1 with the included magazine.
