Built on the AR-15 platform, this M400 TREAD uses a semi-automatic, direct-impingement system with a rotating bolt and a mid-length gas system. It is chambered in 5.56mm NATO with a 30+1 capacity and includes an ambidextrous magazine release and a manual safety.
The 16-inch stainless steel barrel has a 1:8 twist and a threaded muzzle with a three-prong flash hider installed. This configuration supports a wide range of 5.56/.223 loadings and offers durable barrel construction.
The upper receiver carries a T-marked Picatinny rail and includes an ejection-port cover, forward assist, and brass deflector. Markings are clear: the upper is marked "SIG SAUER SIGM400," and the lower reads "SIG SAUER INC NEWINGTON NH, USA." Both receivers are aluminum.
This rifle is fitted with a non-SIG branded, free-float aluminum M-LOK handguard. Furniture includes a Magpul MOE SL-K 6-position adjustable stock and a SIG SAUER-marked polymer grip. Length of pull is listed at 13.0 inches. Made in the USA.
