- Colt Match Target Competition HBAR II rifle
- One 30-round USGI-pattern aluminum STANAG magazine
Built during the 1994–2004 AWB era, this rifle has the period-correct unthreaded crowned muzzle and a deleted bayonet lug. It uses an A2 fixed carry-handle upper with a carbine-length gas system, delivering the classic sight picture and handling associated with late A2-pattern Colts.
The 16" heavy HBAR profile barrel has a 1:9 twist, suited to a broad range of 5.56 NATO/.223 bullet weights. The "C MP 5.56 NATO 1/9 HBAR" marking indicates Colt manufacture with magnetic-particle inspection, a hallmark of Colt’s quality control practices for this series.
Receivers are forged aluminum, with the upper showing the "C AF" forging code. The lower is marked .223, while the barrel is marked 5.56 NATO, a marking combination commonly seen on Colt Match Target rifles from this period. The CJC serial prefix aligns with the Match Target Competition HBAR II designation.
Furniture is classic A2: a fixed polymer stock with rear sling loop, A2 pistol grip, and carbine-length two-piece ribbed polymer handguards. Sighting is via robust A2 iron sights, featuring a protected front post and an adjustable rear sight in the carry handle.
The rifle operates via a semi-automatic, direct impingement system with a 30+1 capacity. It includes a manual safety and a 14.0 length of pull. Made in the USA, this configuration represents a well-documented Colt setup from the final year of the AWB era.
