The Super Match series represents Springfield Armory’s highest-comb accuracy-focused M1A configuration. This example is identified by the SA9102 part number, an "SM .308" barrel marking, and factory case labeling, aligning with the Super Match specification.
It is built on the M14 platform with a semi-automatic, gas-operated short-stroke piston system. The rifle uses a 22" heavy, match, air-gauged barrel and a slotted M14-type flash suppressor. The gas system features GI-style components including the gas cylinder, lock, and knurled gas plug.
The full-length walnut stock is oversized and glass-bedded for stability, with sling swivels installed. A GI-style solid (non-vented) top handguard completes the traditional M14 profile. Length of pull is 13.5".
Fire control is handled by a match-tuned two-stage trigger set at approximately 4.5 lb. Iron sights are M14-pattern: a protected front sight paired with an M1A rear aperture featuring windage and elevation drums for precise adjustment.
The rifle uses a detachable box magazine system with a stated capacity of 20+1. Included magazines are two 20-round and one 10-round M14/M1A-pattern steel mags, providing ready options for range or bench use.
