Founded: 1835

A. Wurfflein (Andrew Wurfflein) / E. Wesson (Edwin Wesson) were United States makers founded in 1835 by Andrew Wurfflein and Edwin Wesson. The Wurfflein family shop in Philadelphia continued under William Wurfflein and closed in 1915, while Edwin Wesson’s shop ended with his death in 1849; some of his revolver designs were produced shortly thereafter by Massachusetts Arms Company as Wesson & Leavitt, a lineage distinct from later Smith & Wesson and Dan Wesson brands. Their defining legacy is in percussion target pistols.
