Allen & Wheelock was an American firearms maker founded in 1856 by Ethan Allen and Thomas P. Wheelock. The firm was renamed E. Allen & Company in 1865; after Ethan Allen’s death in 1871, the lineage continued as Forehand & Wadsworth and later Forehand Arms Company, before being acquired by Hopkins & Allen in 1902. Its legacy centers on early cartridge revolvers using Ethan Allen’s lipfire design.
