H. W. Cooey Machine & Arms Company was founded in Canada in 1903 by Herbert William Cooey. It was sold to Winchester-Western (Canada) in 1961, operated in Cobourg until closing in 1979, and its semi-automatic Model 64 design later continued through Lakefield Arms and is now sold as the Savage Model 64. The brand’s legacy centers on affordable Canadian-made rimfire rifles.
