Waffenfabrik von Dreyse was a German arms maker founded in 1841 by Johann Nicolaus von Dreyse. In 1901 it was acquired by Rheinische Metallwaaren- und Maschinenfabrik (later Rheinmetall), and while the Dreyse name continued on pistols from the Sömmerda works, it is no longer an independent maker. Its defining legacy is the Dreyse needle gun.
