FN HERSTAL, S.A. of Belgium has long produced rifle lowers as integral components of its platforms, from the SCAR family’s polymer lowers to the company’s first clearly marketed stand-alone consumer offerings released on November 21, 2023 as FN 15 Military Collector M4 and M16 stripped lower receivers. In rifle lowers, FN focuses on contract-authentic AR-pattern builds using forged 7075-T6 receivers with military-style markings and semi-auto-only blocking, while SCAR lowers are polymer with fully ambidextrous controls, a modular trigger pack, and, in certain configurations, the ability to house the SmartCore round counter.
