Product Description

The IBM M1 Carbine you can possess is a unique piece of wartime history. The International Business Machines Corporation, better known as IBM, was one of several commercial entities contracted during WWII to provide military equipment. The manufacturing took place from 1942 to 1945, and this one falls right in the peak production period of December 1944. This model is in good condition, showing some moderate signs of use. The bolt's finish is worn, as well as some scratches on the barrel and front sight.

It seems like the upper handguard was replaced at some point. The wood stock has some blemishes but is otherwise in good condition. The bore is excellent, bright and clean. Despite IBM being more famously known for its business machinery, they produced around 346,500 M1 Carbines during this time highlighting their contribution to the war effort. This specific model has "IBM 3741507" stamped on the rear receiver and "U.S.

Carbine CAL.30M1" on the front receiver. "IBM Corps 10 - 43" (faded), "Flaming Bomb" & "P" proof marks are stamped on the barrel. The rear sight is stamped with the "HI" Inland mark. The bayonet lug is stamped with "EM-Q", the Barrel band is stamped with "J.M.O.". The magazine catch is marked with "CC M".

The rifle's .30 Carbine caliber was designed specifically for the M1 Carbine, offering a light but potent performance. The parkerized finish indicates a military specification method of protecting the gun from corrosion, making it durable and reliable in harsh combat conditions. While no magazine is included, the standard magazine capacity of 15+1 chambers is indicative of its design as a semi-automatic, offering soldiers substantial firepower without necessitating frequent reloads.

The IBM M1 Carbine is not just a gun, it's a piece of history! Manufactured in 1944 by IBM, it was likely used in WW2, making it much more than just a firearm - it's a tangible link to the monumental past. The .30 Carbine caliber delivers effective and significant firepower, while its parkerized finish improves resilience and reduces glare, aiding in durability and efficiency. Although there is no magazine included, its standard capacity of 15+1 ensures ample ammo for the user in any situation. Moreover, being produced by IBM, it showcases the technological prowess of the period and serves as a testament to the company's versatility.

Owning an IBM M1 Carbine combines thrill, power, and a nostalgic journey through the pages of history.
