Inspired by the need for a designated marksman rifle, the PSL-54C's production started in the late 1970s. The rifle bears a close resemblance to the AK platform, with a lengthened receiver and a reinforced front trunnion. It utilizes an RPK style rear trunnion and the 7.62x54R caliber, one of the oldest military cartridges still in regular combat service.
Despite showing minor signs of prior use, such as a few scratches on the barrel, mag release, and gas tube, the PSL-54C is in perfect working order. The muzzle device is welded onto the barrel and cannot be removed without milling. The Rak-1 Enhanced trigger group and clean, bright bore make for an outstanding shooting experience.
