The Springfield Armory M1A is a semi-automatic .308 NATO rifle, embodying a rich history and delivering superior performance. This iconic rifle draws inspiration from the military's M14, used extensively from the early 1950s through the 1970s. It's an excellent choice for collectors and enthusiasts alike, boasting a low serial number which adds to its appeal and value.
It’s in good overall condition, showing signs of prior use and handling, yet functioning perfectly. The bore is in excellent condition, shiny and clean. Included in the sale is one 10 round magazine. It should be noted that the M1A Precision stock is an aftermarket addition, and the rifle didn't come with it from the Springfield factory. The stock shows moderate wear surrounding the trigger guard and magwell and the magazine catch is slightly sticky, making it a bit difficult to remove the magazine.
The upper handguard is worn with some signs of wear around the edges.
The M1A's distinctive features include a gas piston action, which provides reliable operation with low felt recoil, and a parkerized finish for enhanced durability. It's fitted with an Archangel ODG Polymer M1A Precision stock having a fully adjustable buttstock with a rubber recoil pad. The polymer pistol grip with palm swell and plate, fullered handguard with picatinny rail and rail cover, and brown synthetic upper handguard add to its ergonomic design. The rear sight is a fully adjustable shrouded aperture with a Sadlak M14 Picatinny scope mount, and the front is an adjustable dovetail shrouded blade.
The M1A offers superior ballistic performance with its .308 NATO caliber, making it a perfect choice for long-range shooting, hunting, or self-defense. Owning this firearm is not just about acquiring a weapon, it's about owning a piece of American history that stands for accuracy, reliability, and power. Don't miss this chance to add the Springfield Armory M1A to your collection.
