Introducing the esteemed Remington Model 1100 "Atlantic", a Ducks Unlimited Commemorative semi-automatic shotgun that hails from the year 1981. This rare find, dedicated to the Atlantic Flyway, was exclusively available in 1982, making it a sought-after piece for collectors and enthusiasts alike. Despite fair overall condition reflecting its age and use, this gun stands as a testament to the durable construction and reliable performance that Remington is renowned for.
The shotgun shows signs of extensive prior use and handling, with noticeable handling marks, dings, scrapes and scuffs present on both the wood and metal. The forend, while sporting a large crack on one side and a substantial chip on the other, still contributes to the gun's overall authenticity. Although the receiver has significant rust damage and pitting, the barrel has fared better, with only light pitting. Notably, the charging handle is missing.
Despite the signs of wear, the gun's bore condition is excellent, clean with a mirror finish and no signs of wear. This Model 1100 "Atlantic" is chambered for 3" MAGNUM shells, with a 28" ventilated rib barrel and a fixed modified choke, showcasing its capability as a high-performing firearm. The gas-operated action ensures reliable cycling, and with a capacity of 4+1, this shotgun is ready for both the field and collection.
The right-side of the receiver is stamped with "DUCKS UNLIMITED" alongside the Ducks Unlimited mallard head symbol, and the left-side of the receiver is stamped "THE ATLANTIC" with a simplistic scroll pattern. These unique engravings add to the gun's appeal and collectible value. Owning this Remington Model 1100 "Atlantic" is not only an investment in a reliable firearm but also a piece of history and a tribute to the Atlantic Flyway.
