Product Description

    Browning Gold Hunter 12 Ga. Semi-Automatic Shotgun – 1995 Miroku-Japan Production
Purpose-built for the upland field yet fully at home on the clay line, this early-generation Gold Hunter blends classic Grade I walnut and polished blue steel with Browning’s then-new Active-Valve gas system and Speed-Load II shell handling. Capable of cycling both 2 ¾" target loads and hard-hitting 3" magnums, it represents the pivotal moment when Browning transitioned from the storied Auto-5 to modern gas-operated autoloaders.

    Condition
Overall rated Good. The polished blue on barrel and receiver shows honest field use: minor surface scratching, light scuffs, small spots of finish thinning, and a few shallow dings along the ventilated rib. Grade I walnut furniture retains its factory gloss with sharp 18 LPI checkering; expect scattered handling marks and edge wear. Bore is clean, bright, and well-maintained with only minor wear rings. Mechanically sound—action cycles smoothly, Active-Valve piston is intact, and controls engage positively.

    What’s Included
    • Browning Gold Hunter 12 Ga. shotgun (serial F51 NV 14674)
    • 28" back-bored Invector-Plus barrel with installed Modified choke tube

An early 1990s high-value Browning: why it stands out
    • Transitional lineage – Alloy receiver still echoes the Auto-5 aesthetic, yet the gas system ushers in Browning’s modern era.
    • Active-Valve gas piston – Self-regulates excess gases to keep recoil manageable and parts cleaner, whether you’re shooting low-brass or 3" magnums.
    • Speed-Load II – Signature Browning feature that chambers the first shell as you thumb it into the magazine, and sends the last round to the carrier for lightning-fast reloads.
    • Back-bored, threaded barrel – 0.742" bore diameter reduces pellet deformation; Invector-Plus system lets you tailor patterns. A Browning Modified tube is already fitted.
    • Grade I walnut – Cut checkering, capped pistol grip, and factory recoil pad deliver both control and period-correct style.
    • Field-ready ergonomics – 14.5" LOP, mid-bead/silver front bead sighting plane, and 3+1 capacity keep it quick-handling for pheasants, mallards, or skeet doubles.
    • Collector appeal – First-generation Golds (1995 launch year) built by Miroku carry lower production numbers and alloy receivers not found on later models.

Practical cross-bolt safety sits at the rear of the trigger guard, and a left-side magazine cut-off allows quick chamber clearing while preserving loaded rounds in the tube—handy at the blind or range.

If you appreciate the balance of walnut and polished steel, value Browning’s innovative loading tricks, and want a proven gas-auto that bridges tradition with modern functionality, this 1995 Gold Hunter deserves a spot in your safe—and in the field.
